I contacted a lawyer about creating a privacy policy and ToS recently. I was told to just copy it from another site (no lie). He's basically told me that for what I wanted it was a generic form. I also noticed using this site that may are what seem to be the same form but the websites names are the only difference. Is this the norm for ToS and Privacy policy's ?

Or should I seek better legal council

Thank you for your time.

I'm not a lawyer, so I can't say for sure. But many "standard" types of forms and contracts come in, well, standard formats, informally referred to as "boilerplate". It may be that "privacy policy" pages fall into this category. You can even get your site's privacy policy generated by an online service.
